Local Ministries
Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church offers several ways to get involved with ministries in and around the Nashville, Tennessee area.
Manna Monday
Manna Monday is a food delivery ministry in which our church prepares and delivers meals to those in need on Monday afternoons. Meal preparation begins at 1:30pm, and deliveries begin around 3:30pm. The word “manna” comes from the story of God providing food called “manna” in the desert for the Israelites when they were in need. Hunger is a real issue for many in the East Nashville area, and we are excited to be able to provide these meals for anyone else in need. Call the church office at 615-227-2504 or email our church to either receive meals or get involved in the ministry. Cooks and people willing to deliver food are always needed.
Room in the Inn Winter Shelter Program
Brush Hill has been serving with the Room in the Inn Ministry’s Winter Shelter program since 1988. During the colder months, we offer hospitality to men experiencing homelessness from around Nashville, including sharing dinner together, providing a safe place to rest for the night, and an opportunity to swap stories. If you would like to get involved with Room in the Inn at Brush Hill, contact the church at 615-227-2504 or via email. Volunteers are needed to provide and serve food.
Current Room in the Inn Schedule
Every other Wednesday starting November 2024 through March 2025.
Loads of Love
Loads of Love is a ministry of Sacred Sparks Ministry that meets in the fellowship hall of our church. Each Tuesday through Friday, Loads of Load provides a loving community to those experiencing poverty and homelessness through washing guests’ laundry and serving lunch daily. Guests experience the love of Jesus in community through being welcomed, seen, heard, served, and encouraged. Our church is currently working to build a permanent laundry room in our facility to wash laundry in-house. You can volunteer with Loads of Love in a variety of ways: providing food, serving meals, washing dishes, or simply being present to welcome and encourage guests. To learn more or get involved, go to the Sacred Sparks website or Facebook page or contact our church.
Space Sharing
At Brush Hill “we share what we have been given.” We have blessed with a beautiful campus property and we believe we are called to offer it to our community in ways that honor God. In the past we have hosted Cottage Cove’s Christmas with Dignity event, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Compassion International’s Compassion Journey. Currently we are thrilled to partner with Sacrament Church as they share our church space for worship. If you would like to partner with us, please fill out the form below or use the form on the Contact page. All requests for using space are reviewed and approved by our church elders.
