Most of us pride ourselves on being self-sufficient, independent people capable of making our way through life with as little help as possible. We have been raised on the idea that asking for help should be the last resort instead of the first option. The amazing thing is that many times self-sufficiency works...until it doesn't. Wilderness seasons of our lives reveal to us that self-sufficiency is a myth we tell ourselves and so often a barrier to receiving the help we actually need. Thankfully, God has shown us a better way to live when the wilderness kicks your butt.
The events of the book of Exodus are probably the most quoted and referenced stories of the entire Bible. In fact, it might not be too much of a stretch to say that in order to truly understand Jesus, you need to know and understand the Book of Exodus. Beginning this week and stretching throughout the fall, we will be studying the book of Exodus on Sundays. Exodus is the story about rediscovering who God is, not just back then but for you and me today. Join us as we introduce the book of Exodus and rediscover God.
