The Hope of Resurrection
"Don't get your hopes up" we often say to one another in an attempt to temper our expectations and deal with the all too common experience of being let down by hope. Flying in the face of this, Peter, one of the first disciples to run to the empty tomb after hearing the news, writes "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope..." What is the nature of this living hope? And how can we frame our lives around the hope of the resurrection of Jesus?
