Have you ever felt called to do something by God, but was too afraid of what others might think? Have you ever shrunk back from sharing your faith out of fear of what others might say or do? In this passage Jesus recognizes the temptation of His followers to give into fear and worry about what others think, sabotaging their effectiveness. In response Jesus gives us both warning and reassurance wrapped into one teaching that can help us to not be swayed by public opinion and stay faithful to God.
