Are We There Yet?

The people of God are a future people--meaning we always live fully in the present while being ever aware of our promised future. Yet, being a future people can be difficult, especially in times of hardship and when it feels like evil and injustice is getting the last laugh. How can we live and wait faithfully in the present for the promised kingdom of God to come? This is the final sermon in the series, "What Time Is It?

Scripture References: 2 Peter 3:1-13

From Series: "What Time Is It?"

Throughout the Scriptures we see the theme of people wrestling with time: from the Psalmist asking God to help the people “count their days” (90:12) to the Teacher of Ecclesiastes crying out that all of life is “vanity” and “chasing the wind.” How should we relate to our pasts? What season of life are you in now, and how can you live faithfully in it? As people who pray, “Thy kingdom come,” how do we relate to a future that hasn’t arrived yet? All these questions and more will be explored!
