"God helps those who help themselves." It's a common saying that makes a lot of sense. Yet, while there is some truth to the idea that God works in partnership with us, at the core of the Gospel is the truth that salvation is not about what we do to earn salvation and love but about what Jesus has done for us. Through faith, we are brought near to God, and the invitation to salvation is extended to all—regardless of background, ethnicity, or past. As we enter this Lenten season, may we humbly return to the source of our salvation, acknowledging our reliance on God's grace, and exalt Jesus as Lord over every aspect of our lives.
