Forcing Shots and Waiting on God

In basketball and other sports you sometimes will hear that instead of waiting on a good shot opportunity to come open, a player “forced” a shot up. Have you ever done that in life? Have you become impatient in your relationships or in your career or with yourself or God? Continually the Bible encourages us to wait on God patiently trusting him, instead of forcing up a bad shot. In an age of instant gratification, how can we do a better job of waiting on God?

From Series: "Advent"

The Advent season describes the four week period leading up to the celebration of Christ’s birth at Christmas. Unlike stores that race to put up their Christmas decorations and products as fast as possible in the year, Christians deliberately seek to take our time before arriving at Christmas. It is a season of longing, not just for the celebration of Christmas, but for all the ways we long for God to enter in our lives with love, joy, peace, and hope. We invite you enter this season of anticipation with us at Brush Hill!
