The Desire of the Eyes

Doesn’t the grass always seem a little greener, over there? With that other career, that other person, that other house, that other church, or that other person’s life you wish you had? In a world that creates and caters to our sense of dissatisfaction and restlessness, how can we rest our wandering eyes, and see our own lives and God gives us life with gratitude?

From Series: "Lent"

In the season of Lent we seek to formally practice what should be a regular pattern in the life of every Jesus follower, specifically the concepts of repentance, self-denial, and dependence on God. It's a way of reminding us that our lives should bear the shape of the cross, while maintaining an everlasting hope of the resurrection. This sermon series revisits the ancient story of humanity’s temptation in the garden of Eden, as we seek to repent from the ways that we give into temptation and trust God more.
