Have you ever had your plans in life interrupted? Had a career that didn’t pan out? An opportunity that turned out it wasn’t quite what you thought it was? So often in life we tend to believe we are in control, planning and building our lives around things that don’t last. Jesus invites us on a different path. A way of life not built around our ability to control our circumstances, but trusting the One who meets us in them.
In the season of Lent we seek to formally practice what should be a regular pattern in the life of every Jesus follower, specifically the concepts of repentance, self-denial, and dependence on God. It's a way of reminding us that our lives should bear the shape of the cross, while maintaining an everlasting hope of the resurrection. This sermon series revisits the ancient story of humanity’s temptation in the garden of Eden, as we seek to repent from the ways that we give into temptation and trust God more.
